And then Life Goes On.....

So much of anger that we all go through with the Sexual Abuse that's happening without an end to the crime and with Children it's just beyond something to digest or keep quiet....

There are so many underlying questions that I find it difficult to comprehend….
  • Is there nothing called as “Conscience” to the person committing such heinous crime…
  • The trauma that child undergoes….During and post the crime…
  •  The plight of parents and the loved ones to see their child who suffered & suffering so much of pain…Mental agony that they go through and the irony of not being able to do anything knowing that some rogue for his pleasure has committed such a horrible act…
  • Imagine that child that has gone through the ordeal, pain and end of it has to come in terms with life ahead….& all this out of balance in life is because of someone who escapes scot free…
  • When such things happen… we get jolted…we stand on side of justice…we do everything possible to stand united and totally in sync with the pain, agony and against the terrible crime…& after that slowly things fade….We FORGET….
  • We carry on with our lives…We read the newspapers…watch the news…Have this sickening feeling and then….it’s over…..
  •  The people who have committed the crime also know that eventually people FORGET….It’s just in the air for a few days…and everyone is busy in their own lives….No I am not here to blame…but just sharing that’s what I do too!!! L
  • The same happens with all the rapes that are happening in our country…Justice Delayed…People with Authority pacify us and then like a routine affair the incompleteness goes on….
  •          Where is the end to all this??? :( Is there any??
We now grow in an era where we live in –
  • Fear of having a child
  • Fear if I have a child how do I protect my child  - From home, neighborhood, school, bus, park, play area,…everything and everyone….
  • Fear of trusting anyone….who does the parent trust and not trust – From relatives, uncle, aunt,  neighbours, domestic help, driver, attendant, teacher, friends, strangers and the list is endless – Everyone I see could turn out to be something else…
  • Fear if someone threatens my child how should I as a parent/adult deal with the situation
  • Like the basic necessities of life - The need to Empower my child is the basic necessity…

A place where there is pure joy – People around have souls – filled with pure love, Where we don’t live in fear of the fellow human being, respect eachother, where there is harmony and we all grow together to appreciate the human life, we live to enjoy every bit our stay in this beautiful world given to us… And that’s how we pass it on to our generations next…Will something like this be ever there??? Looks like a distant dream…..hmmmmm….

The Things We Steal From Children by Dr.John Edwards

Here is something so very close to all the things that I have learned from Ratnesh and during TTT & from everyone at Amable who have helped me to be here in this profound journey with children.... A poem by John Edwards and his wife Sandra Russell about "The Things We Steal From Children" - very powerful Enjoy reading these beautiful lines- That will surely leave you thinking & reflecting :) If I am always the one to think of where to go next. If where we go is always the decision of the curriculum or my curiosity and not theirs, If motivation is mine, If I always decide on the topic to be studied, the title of the story, the problem to be worked on, If I am always the one who has reviewed their work and decided what they need, How will they ever know how to begin? If I am the one who is always monitoring progress. If I set the pace of all working discussions, If I always look ahead, foresee problems and endeavour to eliminate them, If I swoop in an...

Appreciation...Motivation...I wonder and wander...Thinking!!!!

During one of my sessions with kids last week, I was casually sharing that there are only few weeks left for our classes to end and how I am going to miss them all...This had some spontaneous reactions – some saying ohhhh only 3 weeks...I will miss too you too Ma’am..Will miss you Nimmi...what happens if there are no classes... some not reacting...and a couple of them saying Yessss!!! It’s getting over (These were the ones whom I knew would react this way :)  ;))).... I enjoyed this little conversation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and emotions that came along... I was thinking on these lines and how this whole conversation would have affected me if it was the other way ...If the kids said they wouldn’t miss me or the sessions or had no reactions....  Maybe - My initial reactions would have been feeling terrible I guess ... :)  ;) and then I would have reflected back on my sessions and seen what I have done that children didn’t miss/like my sessions ...

What it takes to build your own country??

Here is a conversation with two children in one of the sessions... Me : What does it take to build a country? Child 1 : Jenga...Blocks simple Me : :)....Okay....what about building a real country... Child 1: In total agreement - yes Mahatma Gandhi Me : Okay...so Gandhi makes it...where is he? Child 2 : He is in Taj mahal Child 1 (looked confused but then felt friend was right) Me: Who builds all the above? Both: Builder... and Mahatma Gandhi tells buil...
